The software integrated the most advanced peer-to-peer technology so it can provide the users with smooth TV programs with no interceptions. It is a part of a new generation P2P applications that combines P2P and IPTV, called P2PTV. In P2P technology everyone becomes a broadcaster without the cost of traditional streaming, the most users are online, the faster the program can be loaded.

1. The latest version of PPlive (3.3.0) runs a silent install that associates most media file types with itself. Developers need to address this or PPlive certainly could be said to behave very like an infection, in that it has unintended and for the most part unwanted consequences. 2. Another thing PPlive has done since earlier versions is to set itself to run on startup, opening a sharing node. If running PPlive and not wanting to consume bandwidth unwittingly, users need to run msconfig each time they close PPlive to stop this running. 3. PPlive does not exit fully when it is closed. It leaves an associated process called PPAP running, keeping the P2P node open consuming bandwidth. This has to be shut down as a process every time you exit PPLive.
